I have posted about our dog Sydney and the issue with blood in her urine. Last week we took her to Vet and they did an X-ray because her urine sample and blood work confirmed it was not a UTI or stones or crystals. Not Cushing's either. The X-ray didn't show anything abnormal but she continued to have blood in her urine. He did an ultrasound today and found a mass in her bladder. They are pretty sure it is bladder cancer. It is aggressive but operable. They feel like we should operate. We made the decision to go ahead with surgery. We are waiting for a date from Dr as it's tricky due to the holiday. They are not there at night from Christmas to New Year. She needs 3 days in hospital. We are heartbroken but hopeful that she will recover. She is more than a pet to us..she is our baby. Please pray for her. 😭😭😭💜💜🙏🙏🙏

Omg im crying! Will definitely definitely keep her in our prayers. There is absolutely no way you can beg or plead with vet to operate sooner? Im so sorry. I know exactly what you mean about being your baby. We are the same people that way. Sending you hugs and comfort🥰💕 and prayers.

Oh no poor thing- I am glad it has been found but it has to be hard to wait for the surgery! Is she on antibiotics or anything or pain meds?

Prayers for Sydney and hugs to you! So sorry to hear this. I would waif until there is staff at night. My !ocal vet never has anyone there overnight. I remember once for Bobby or one if the cats they wanted to keep him overnight. I insisted on bringing him home so I could watch him and then take him back the next day.

Since your sister is here, you could see if you can get into here: staffed 24/7/365. https://vshsd.ethosvet.com/ it’s where I’ve done all the cancer stuff.

Thank you everyone! My heart is full with all your prayers and well wishes. We are having second thoughts about surgery. I have been researching it and our Vet said a successful surgery will add 1-3 years to Sydney’s life. She is already almost 13 years old. After googling it the estimate with no surgery is about 3-6 months. The estimate of extended life with surgery is 6-12 months. I trust our Vet but I could not find any info that supported what he said. Bladder cancer is extremely aggressive and the tumors almost always return. We are unsure if we should put her through such a surgery and difficult recovery just to add 6 months to her life. If anyone out there in FS land has any experience in this field, advice is welcome. She is on Piroxicam and when we gave it to her last night for first time she did not have a good reaction to it. Thank you💜. Katsolo, My sister has my mom living at her house and her son came to visit so no space for us. We do have a good vet here but I appreciate your giving us name of vets you use. I know you have been through this with your dogs. I’m hoping to get answers as to what direction to go…

Best of luck to you. We just lost our dog of almost 5 years to cancer. He was a stray we rescued and was about 10yo at his passing. It was hard but we just wanted him to not suffer any longer. Vet said it looked pretty bleak even with interventions. Hope your furry friend gets better.
