I packed up some leftovers into 200 calorie snack packs. My kids took most of the pies, but I had some apple and some pumpkin. I have turkey and the bones that will become soup with rice. Lots of veggies left: green beans, brussel sprouts, salads. I am going to saute the spinach and kale salad and freeze some of it.
My birds: Rudy was named Rudi because when we got him in June 1984 we thought we had a girl macaw. Then when he was 15, we had to have blood tests for him and we found out we have a boy! So we think he was born in March of 1984 which means he turned 38 this year. The little green bird is a Yellow Naped Amazon named Pidge. We had other birds named Midge and Madge and Pookie so I wanted something that went with that and fit her. When you look at her face on she looks like a pigeon so I suggested Pidge and it stuck. She was born in 2005 which makes her 17 this year.
Ate too much pie today but getting back on the plan. Up a little, but I am sticking to the program over the weekend and will start back logging only weekly weigh ins and weigh daily just to track progress mentally.
My mom and sister came up and even brought my niece too. Then my children and one of the friends.

I've heard birds are long lived. Nice to have them as companions, I imagine!

It is a blessing to have companions. Rudi is not a young boy at all. Even Pidge is also adult. I heard that they are very smart and intelligent. I want to have a cat or a dog when I retire, so I will be able to stay with them all day nd all night. Good to hear the story. 😃

Rudy 38! 😯 Wanted a parrot for so long but don’t know if I can meet their needs. Call all the Pigeons at home ‘Pidge’ lol 😀 Neighbors dislike that I fed them cause now they’ve decided to call the place home too. 🪶

Love the birds. We had a parrot that blew in during a bad storm. My ex was cleaning up debris and Tweeter landed on his shoulder and stayed with us for years until death. Obviously someones pet but we could not find the owner and the vet said the bird may have come from a long way off. Our son was born in June of 1984.
