I've never seen a bear! How scary but how beautiful! An hour from a store is really long. I'm lucky to have a little grocery store 5 minutes away. I go there for things like milk, eggs and bread. Otherwise it's a 30 minute drive to the next town to a big supermarket and over an hour to Costco. Having a freezer in the garage helps if you like to shop in bulk.

Nature can be great. Surprisingly I do not find these brown bears that scary. They come down here to the population in fall to look for fruit and berries in gardens. This bear on the picture is about 18months old. So not a large one. Yesterday on our way back from shopping we spotted a baby bear. It was very cute. There are cougars here running around hunting the deer. Those I do not trust. They are very nocturnal so do not see them very often.
