Got the job! Start on 8/9. Turned in notice on Friday - so far the Terror (aka Gru - 🤣 love you Katsolo) hasn't said a solitary word to me since! Meanwhile HR decided to go inspect my bathroom rail on Friday after I pointed out to her that it's mine and I will be taking it with me. How do I know? Because she put it back wrong, and folded it up wrong. I almost fell wrestling it out of the cabinet and then almost broke it trying to wrench it open since she folded it up wrong.
My letter of resignation for those of you that are curious states verbatim:
"I have accepted a salaried Yardi Support position with another Property Management company that is willing to accommodate my disability with a hybrid work week, and and additional rail for their office toilet."
Why you ask would I say anything beyond "after 11 years and 10 months, I hereby tender this letter of resignation as my two week notice with August 5th being my last day"? Well, IF I decide to pursue the discrimination case with the EEOC, the reasons for my departure should be indicated. So "salaried", "hybrid", and of course "reasonable accommodation". Now I can't seem to find a copy of the denial for my request last summer, and I haven't decided how to ask for one, since HR is in on this as much as the Terror. So much to think about with the days counting down 🕵🏼♀️
Brother is failing fast now, and didn't have the strength to talk to me this weekend. I'm trying to stay focused on the good things that are happening, and not allow myself to fall into a pool of tears. It's a constant teeter-totter.

You journaled this stuff last year. Should help you on narrowing dates to look for correspondence along with the reduction of responsibilities that took you to hourly for a position that was salaried for so long. congratulations and good luck.

I'm beyond thrilled for you!! You've worked so hard to find a new job and finally it's done. So sorry about your brother. I lost one of my sisters 13 days ago, it is so hard. Hugs!

You should also ask for a copy of your employee file. They are required to provide it upon request. Do it before you leave. I’m so happy for you.

Why take the bar with you? I think I would have left it in place just in case someone else might need it. I doubt that it was that expensive. That would be a gracious gesture. BTW— did you have WRITTEN permission to put it up to begin with, Otherwise-disgruntled employee doing physical damage to company property. I hope the new job brings you some peace.

congratulations! I recently left a job where I had many grievances. The daily stress was 24/7 whether at work or not being able to forget about work and enjoy life. The best thing you can do for yourself is before your last step out the door is exhale and release all the bad energy. For as much as you want to rectify the situation doing so will be a constant reminder and only carry forward in your daily thoughts and actions. Put your energy and thoughts to the future.

✅Take everything that belongs to you.. rail included 😀
