Fasted 17 hours. Rm's sister had a big blowout graduation party for their son (my roommate's nephew) yesterday in their insanely gorgeous and ginormous yard in the country. Family flew/drove in from all over. Rm knew what a big deal it was to her (much more than the guest of honor, lol). My friend came over to stay with the pets in case we ended up staying out there. So it was a little stressful leading up to it.

The weather was fantastic, and everyone had a lot of fun. I have settled into my role as "platonic plus one"/adopted family member and I am proud to report that managed the giant buffet of kryptonite pretty well. I did have a very small piece of each of the two heavenly sheet cakes (from Costco, she said), but c'est la guerre.

Kat, I too had a choice of things to wear for the first time since I have met all of his extended family, so that was just a huge win too. I loathe feeling like I am not dressed right.

Today the whole house is exhausted. I am so glad to get back to my regular food.
