I have been battling the bulge since I was in high school. Over the years I have tried all kinds of diets, some worked for a short time, but I never got down to goal weight and I always gained the weight back plus a few extra pounds. In 2014 I found Bright Line Eating (BLE) and got within 5 pounds of my goal weight. I felt great both mentally and physically. I quit drinking all soft drinks and cut all artificial sweeteners out of my diet.

After my success, I did not renew my membership with BLE for financial reasons. Then without the BLE community support I started to get lazy when it came to measuring my portions (I’ve found that portion control is a big part of my battle) and the weight slowly started coming back. Fast forward to 2020 and COVID hit. The gym was closed, and I was working out of my kitchen. More excuses for me to eat too much and not exercise.

In February 2021 I decided to look for a new job, got an interview and could not fit into any of my suits. Holy cow! I weighed myself and had another horrifying moment – I weighed more than I have ever weighed in my life. This was my wake-up call. I got the job and now had access to the gym in the building. I started working out again, but had a tough time being consistent and I was still eating unregulated amounts of food. I finally found FS on June 2021. I love the supportive community and learning from others!

Exercise goal = 5 days x 30 minute minimum = 2.5 hrs/week minimum
Food Goal = Low Carb/whole foods

The bright side: I have not had a soft drink or any artificial sweeteners since March 2014. I do not miss either!
