so i ate bad again today. was lonely and bored and missed drinking....i did buy only a personal pizza and only a single serving tiny haagan daz. (but got a huge piece of chocolate cake and had eaten some ice cream earlier that started the whole thing). i calculated it out....if i eat 1500 calories and do 400 calories of exercise it'll be gone in two days....I'm learning to not beat myself up over this stuff...i have never been an advocate of a cheat day but I'm starting to think that if i don't ever allow them that my binging is even worse when i do do it. i do however need to learn some coping so that this doesn't happen so often....today my friend said journaling helped her lose 100lbs. i might try to take it up.

I think mindset is the most important. For example, one thing that I think helps is to maybe have a general idea re the types of things you want to eat-maybe-but try to think of it as "I can eat anything I want, whenever I want. I'm an adult, after all." THEN you can decide what you're gonna eat as you go along. To me, that is very different from setting up rules and feeling deprived constantly and feeling like you've put yourself in a box. In reality, you're not in a box-you are totally free to do whatever you desire! Good luck!

My current regime is to journal what I eat and how I feel. On Saturday I didn’t feel very good, but on Sunday I felt good by the afternoon. It corresponded with my food choices. A light bulb moment.

I have kept a private journal for years and it definitely helps you to dump that crazy thinking on paper then let it go! I just make sure my journal file is password protected on my laptop so I am free to say whatever I want. It is freeing and it helps you to find the root of your pain, bitterness, and whatever you want to change. It will help you to dump negative energy and see where you want to change your thinking to include more positive thoughts. Blessings to you!

I think the most important thing for me, when I do this is, to not quit the diet altogether. This requires me to be humble.

You are doing great. Plus you wont even think about this meal in a day or two from now. Sometimes if I track the "bad" food before I eat it, I might self-correct but not always. Depends on my mood. - Especially if it involves pizza, cookies, or ice cream.

I had my 'treat' day yesterday - just live McDonalds fries - back at the gym this morning and ready to get back on track

Agreed! I find it's helpful to do a mini-cheat day where I have about a hundred k-cal of some of my favorite not good-for-me foods as a side to an abundance of low calorie healthier foods. I plan it out ahead of time so I can balance my macros. If I deny myself all the treats, I know I will get frustrated and not want to stick with my healthy eating regimen.
