so far, a fairly good week, i guess. got the slow walkers really moving yesterday with the pack walk. it was cool and breezy, so they didn't really notice we were going at a good clip. it's "may gray" in san diego. that means cool and cloudy in the morning, followed by bright sunshine in the afternoon. my favorite time of year. especially good for sleeping and walking in the evenings.

i planned ahead yesterday and made chicken in the instant pot before I left the house. came home late to the wonderful smell of roasted chicken throughout the house. it was good. i only bought three breasts for the week instead of four because the price went up again. probably was a little low on the veggies last night, but i ate spinach, zucchini and tomato earlier, so all good.

tonight, will do a cauliflower stir fry and spice it up. finally figured out how to get that through the blender rather than small bags from the grocery. the dogs were subjected to a lot of cauliflower "filler" in their food the past few weeks as I refined my technique. i have an older blender, so it doesn't do fancy things like pulse. had to get a good feel for it after multiple batches of mush (soup!) and the amount of water is tricky. got it though. i think i'll add a clove of garlic next time for convenience. that will make it less like cauliflower (i eat it, but not a real fan) and maybe i'll do a mix with broccoli, which i do like.

plan is to walk and swim tonight. my dance card is a little crowded the rest of the week, so must get it in while i can. so happy to have the swim lane back. i had just found my "jam" as far as the pace, and can feel my cardio coming back to me, so losing it was hard. i'm back to a solid 11 strokes between breaths, and i can hold my breath for 30 seconds again. goal is 60 seconds at some point (used to be able to swim the length of the pool under water in HS), but more important is to keep moving more and more without injury.
