This picture reminds me of a book we read in school - odour of chrysanthemums. I always imagined a setting similar to this minus the power lines.

I shattered my arm on holiday in Tunisia many years ago very badly. I elected to stay over there for the surgery rather than fly home (The pain was horrendous) Several metal plates, nuts and bolts later I was allowed to fly home. My bones healed up fairly quickly but the position of the metal plate at the top of my shoulder was sticking up. I had to have the metalwork removed and the relief when I came out of the op was amazing, until I discovered that I'd been given the nerve stuff. I know what you mean. My arm was like a dead weight and just fell by my side, lol. Hope you have a speedy recovery now x
