so i overate big time on saturday but then sunday and monday i didnt even eat 1k calories??? just was so busy and went boating all day sunday....i guess that takes care of those extra calories! i just naturally didnt feel that hungry. i wonder if thats ok to do? i always feel confused if it will make me lose muscle or slow my metabolism or something

No ur metabolism does not slow down with one day, one week or even one month of being on a calorie deficit

Yes, it balances the calories out...I do that all the time😆

It take months (how may? depending on the person) of one being in a caloric deficit for it to seek survival mode and learn to adapt to a lower caloric intake

I do the same! I have a weekly ‘budget’. Some days I can have 1800 and others I can have 1000. It all balances out. It took me 12 weeks before I noticed a change in my metabolism. That was a very strict diet though, going from about 2000 a day or more down to 1200. Keep the protein up if you can. Anywhere from 0.6-1.0g/lb of body weight seems to be the norm. I aim for 0.75g/LB which is about 100g for me. Dr suggested that amount for me. Eating protein helps you keep your muscles while in a calorie deficit:).

It is inevitable for metabolism to slow some with weight loss as it takes less energy to move the body when you drop the 20, 50, 100 lb "backpack" you've been carrying. Exercise and muscle building can counteract this effect.
